Gentari has several solar and storage projects that are due to commence construction towards the end of this year and are looking for a high quality and experienced person to fill a vacancy and lead the teams that are executing these projects. This role is a key member of our leadership team and is a critical role to meet our ambitious GW target over the next 6 years.
Key Responsibilities
- Reporting to the Head of Project Delivery, your role is lead on the delivery of renewable projects including but not limited to Solar, Wind, BESS and Hydrogen from Notice to Proceed through to full operation and to ensure timely and successful project delivery.
- Manage project execution for renewable energy projects, including developing project related plans, managing scope including change management, project schedule and construction risks.
- Prior to NTP, provide key input to the EPC contract and associated schedules and participate actively in project contracts negotiation. Manage all contractual obligations and processes within the EPC contracts and associated schedules, Grid contracts, Development Approvals and associated plans, Lease agreement, Suppliers / Vendors contract for free issued items and other project contracts.
- Lead the project and site team – direct report, plus the other cross-functional team members (HSEQ, legal, engineering)
- Manage EPC Contractor and sub-contractors during the Construction stage.
- Identify any cost saving opportunities and implement solution to enhance project efficiency and performance. Manage project construction budge, certification Forecast monthly cost to completion and conduct regular project cost reviews workshop with management.
- Manage the work and budget of the external Owners Engineer and other advisors.
- Lead and manage the construction process, ensuring compliance with Project Contracts, Design Specifications, Quality standards and Regulatory requirements.
- Conduct regular site visits (Weekly, Fortnightly and as required).
- Report on key milestones, risks and roadblocks/bottle necks, providing regular updates to management.
- Build and establish relationships with Contractors, Suppliers, LNSP, AEMO, Planning Authorities, Local Community, Neighbours, Landowners and relevant Government Bodies.
- Lead project meetings and workshops. Provide techno-commercial support and guidance to project teams throughout the project lifecycle.
- Establish and Implement quality control procedures to ensure that construction activities meets/exceeds project specifications and regulatory standards. Conduct regular inspections and audits to verify the integrity and performance of installed technology.
- Track and report on project performance metrics, including schedule adherence, budget compliance, quality and technical performance. Prepare project documentation, including financial reports, progress reports, and meeting minutes.
- Stay updated with industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices in renewable energy projects.
- Ensuring Gentari safety, environment and quality policies are implemented and adhered to across all project sites, and that our commitments to community and other stakeholders are met.
- Contribute to Gentari Solar Australia’s unique culture of innovation, collaboration, and continuous improvement whilst always putting our people first.
Skills and Experience Required
- Proven experience managing large scale utility project delivery in Australia from contract negotiation through to completion stages
- Excellent communication and being comfortable reporting to Project Head and CEO.
- Experience implementing risk management procedures
- Very organised with a keen eye for detail and strong ability to prioritise and multitask
- Ability to adapt to a changing environment and anticipate issues before they arise
- Expert skills in project management
- Strong problem-solving skills and conflict resolution
- Strong leadership skills and ability to manage teams across multiple projects
- Experienced using Microsoft Project and the rest of the Microsoft Office product suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
- Valid Australian Driving Licence
- Ability to travel both domestically and internationally as required. Travel expectation: 50%.
